How ICP Provides Security

How the Internet Computer's chain-key cryptography, threshold signatures, and replicated execution make hosted software tamper-resistant and verifiable.

01Chain-key cryptography

ICP uses chain-key cryptography so that a single public key can verify the network's output. Threshold signatures let the network sign messages and serve responses without any single node holding the private key. This is what lets canisters serve web content and API responses directly, with cryptographic proof of authenticity.

02Replicated execution

Every canister runs on multiple independent nodes that must agree on the result. That replication makes it extremely hard for any one party to tamper with state or censor a response. For Apex, this is the security foundation behind trusting the data the platform surfaces: the same tamper-resistance that protects canisters is what makes decentralized AI compute trustworthy.
