Decentralized AI Compute

Why running AI on decentralized infrastructure matters: verifiable execution, no single gatekeeper, and a substrate where AI services can be trusted and owned.

01The problem with centralized AI

Today most AI runs on a handful of centralized clouds. That concentrates control over the models, the data, and the compute in a few companies. It also makes it hard to verify what a model actually did — you have to trust the provider's word.

02The decentralized alternative

On a decentralized network like ICP, AI canisters run on replicated, verifiable infrastructure. Execution is transparent, upgrades are governed, and no single party can quietly change the model or pull the plug. For Apex, this is the bridge between the singularity thesis (AI is climbing toward a threshold) and the sovereignty thesis (who controls that climb).
